No Book For You!

I wasn’t aware that Artimus Pyle was planning to publish a book until I saw this post from “The Ballad of Curtis Loew”, or SkynyrdScotland. I’m not sure which is actually the name of the site.

News emerged last week that Artimus Pyle’s book, Street Survivor: Keeping the Beat in Lynyrd Skynyrd, which chronicles his experience during and after the 1977 plane crash, has been shelved following the threat of legal action.
This short message appeared on Artimus’ Twitter feed.
“Artimus’ memoir will not be published in the foreseeable future, following a legal threat by Judy, Gary, etc.”
A further tweet suggested that the book will never see the light of day.
“Yep. I doubt it will ever come out.”

I don’t normally add personal info or asides on this site, but this news made me pretty happy and left me wanting to add my opinion.

Many years ago I had fairly extensive interactions with Pyle. At possibly the lowest point of his life I offered assistance and was very generous to him. I was eventually repaid with attempted violence and slander.

Artimus Pyle is a borderline sociopath and does not have the capacity to tell the truth. I’m pretty happy that his little book will never be foisted upon the public.
