Masters Of Resonance-FULL FILM Limited Time

by | Dec 10, 2019 | Blog, Full Show

If you are attracted to vision, drive, determination, talent, dedication, etc, then you should take the time to watch this “movie.”

I stumbled across this a few days ago and “Watch The Full Film” caight my eye, so I clicked on it. Turns out it a history of sorts of DW Drums. Since I’m a drummer, I stuck with for a bit.

I ended up watching the whole thing.

This is one of the few times on this site that I post a link to a video, rather than embeding it. It was posted about 10 days ago, as of this writing. And the have “limited time” on it so, unless it’s just false scarcity, they’re going to be taking it down or moving it soon. So a link will still be useful at that point. And I won’t have a dead video link.

It’s inspiring to see the dedication and innovation these people have for their craft. And it is so intruiging to see the machine they use to cut the trees.

Their approach to manage the forest and harvesting trees is a great example of a fairly large business conciously chosing to be good stewards of their resurces.

I started listening to Rush from their first album. And haven’t listened much since they’re 4th or 5th album. But I’m still a big fan and, being a drummer myself, really appreciate Neal Peart’s ability.

I’ve never seen them live or really paid that much attention, so I was very surprised to see, at the end of this movie how high he sets everything. Especially his snare drum. You can see that it’s two inches or so above the top of his thighs.

Not a criticism, just an observation. I was surprised to see such an unorthodox approach from someone as technically proficient as Peart. Seems uncomfortable to me, but he makes it work. Really, really… REALLY work.
