Allman Brothers Band “True Gravity” 1990

In 1990 The Allman Brothers had reunited the year before and had just released their album, Seven Turns. Their first studio album since 1981. The Allman Brothers Band went on Johnny Carson to perform the instrumental “True Gravity.” And they were joined by the Tonight Show Brass. It’s pretty sweet.

The line up at this point included original members Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, butch Trucks and Jaimoe. Along with them were warren Haynes, from Dickey Betts’ band, Allen Woody on Bass and Johnny Neel on Keys. Haynes and Woody would later go on to form their side project, Gov’t Mule.
Although the Allman Brothers aren’t together any more, there’s lots of places to find and follow everything ABB. Hittin’ The Web, the band’s official website, is still updated regularly. Dickey Betts has had some health problems over the last year or so. Hopefully, he’ll be making his return soon. Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band stays out there quite a bit. Oteil Burbridge is always on tour with Oteil and Friends or Dead and Company, among others. And, of course, they, along with countless groups and fan pages, are ubiquitous on social media. Find them. Support them. Have fun!
