The Dead Daisies – Chosen And Justified – Portland, OR 10/21

The Dead Daisies have been around since 2013. They’ve had a lot of different personnel changes, and put out several albums. They’ve been pretty consistent at making some really good, heavy classic rock sounding music. This is pro stuff for sure. So just about anything they’ve done over the years is worth giving a listen.
They were founded by guitarist and successful bussinessman, aviator, and musician, David Lowy. Lowy bankrolled The Dead Daisies project to get it off the ground. I obviously don’t know the financial situation or arrangement. But knowing how hard it is to put a band together at this level, keep it together, spend time writing new material, rehearsing said material, going in the studio to record the album, and the logistics of putting that band on the road, thank God for ambitious men of means with a passion for making cool music. It gives the rest of us schlubs something to listen and look forward to.
September 2019 saw the band debut a new track, and make the announcement that they had just added their new singer and bassist, Glenn Hughes. Hughes has played and sung with just about everybody over the last few decades, and has arguably one of the very top rock and roll voices ever.
A couple months later they were going into the studio to record the new album, which would be released in 2020. Along with an accompanying tour. Which, of course, got postponed due to the covid virus. After releasing a couple singles, some “lockdown” material online during the down time, The dead Daisies began doing shows again in April 2021. They didn’t do their first show with Glenn Hughes until June of 2021!
This is Chosen And Justified from their 2020 album release, Holy Ground.
The Dead Daisies currently consist of Lowy, Doug Aldrich (White Snake, Dio, and more), Tommy Clufetos (Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, others), and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath, Black Country Communion).
