Marcus King has been making a pretty big splash for a few years now. It’s interesting to see a young artist like this progress, improve and branch out. He’s on 23, born in Greenville, SC, and he is definitely on an upward trajectory.
The Marcus King Band is out on the festival tour every year now, and this track is from the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival in 2018.

Marcus King’s dad is also a guitar player. Marcus considers his dad, Marvin, as one of his major influences. Marvin’s band The Marvin King Revue plays around Greenville, SC, their hometown.
Marvin tells the story about playing music with his dad and how hard it was was for a long time to look at his dad’s guitar after he died. So he decided to give Big Red to Marcus.
“He’s doing so well. Why make the kid wait until I kick the bucket? Just give it to him now.”
